Wales ships most orders from stock located in Eagan, MN same day or next day. Our most sold online product brand is Compac Engineering – Erecta Switch. The top two products sold online are 15-650 PP and 10-782 PP. These parts are always in stock and we ship UPS up to 6:00 CT.

If a part is out of stock and will not ship within a day we will email you to advise delivery and inquire if expediting is needed.

Both phone and email customer service is staffed with experienced engineers that have sold instrumentation for over 20 years. Please feel free to call or email us your application. If we do not have a product in inventory to fulfill your needs we will be glad to refer you to one of our online partners.

Wales Internet site is hosted by Yahoo; which has proven to be very stable and very secure. We accept American Express, Visa, Master Card, Paypal, and Discover.

We request your first order to be paid by credit card. Customers also can pay net 30 if requested and approved.

Wales History

In year 2000 Mike Allen worked for Durable Controls. Durable Controls was a Gemu diaphragm valve distributor. Durable Controls was approached to refurbish Gemu valves by a large customer. Durable Controls hired Mike’s teanage sons - Jake and Matt, to perform the refurbishing. Since the refurbishing was several thousands of dollars in profit, Mikes sons needed to form a business for tax purposes. They created the name Wales Instruments and Valves because they lived in a small town – Wales, Wisconsin.

The two brothers would carry boxes of used valves down to Mike's basement in Wales, WI for a makeshift assembly line where Wales would disassemble, clean, add a brand new valve bottom and O –Rings, and assemble and test and repack up for delivery. After the valves were assembled the valves were put in Mikes 1991 Taurus and he would drive them about 65 miles from Wales, WI to a customer in South Beloit, WI, and then pick up another load to repeat the process.

In 2001 Durable Controls was the only Compac Engineering – Erecta Switch representative that received commissions for sales to assigned distributors in their territory. Mike helped his sons get a large contract and distributorship for Compac Engineering –Erecta Switch, and thus helped Durable Controls get significant commissions.

In 2003 Wales expanded to sell Pacer Instruments ( Proven to be the highest accuracy rotating vane anemometer at flows other brands can’t even register). Wales has since added Test Products, Power Blanket, and Brisk Heat. Wales performs due diligence on products ( OK, we try to break them, wear them out, or fry them) and adds approved product lines that are in our core product of knowledge on a continuous basis; Pressure, Temperature, Level, and Flow.

In 2004 Mike joined Wales full time while Jake and Matt continued to work part time for Wales as they were pursuing their college education.

Why the Move to Eagan, MN?

Mike’s wife Corrinn retired from her position as a receptionist at Falls Medical in 2004. Wales was now an online store that could be located anywhere, and son’s Jake and Matt were away at college and worked for Wales remotely. Mike and Corrinn decided to move back to their home state – Minnesota. In fact they bought the house next to Corrinn’s mother in Eagan, MN.

It turned out to be a great move. Wales is now located about 12 minutes from MSP airport for convenient air travel to customers, and Wales gets great UPS service since we are within a few minutes from a major UPS hub.
